2017 AL Wild Card Game: Minnesota Twins vs. New York YankeesOctober 03, 2017 by Marc Jerbs

On Tuesday, the Minnesota Twins will face the New York Yankess in the AL Wild Card game at Yankee Stadium in New York. Game time is set at 8PM ET. The winner of this one-game playoff will advance to the AL Division Series against the Cleveland Indians.

Minnesota and New York were not favorites to advance in the MLB playoffs during the preseason. However, both club proved their detractors wrong as the season progressed. The Yankees started the season on fire with their combination of veterans and young guns in their pitching and hitting rosters.

New York also took a one-month spill as they ventured away from their winning formula due to inconsistencies in their play and injuries to some players. After the All-Star break, the Yankees was in full-throttle as they booked a wild-card spot.

The Twins has somewhat similar journey just like the Yankees. However, they started the season on the wrong foot. They decided to become a seller in during the trade line and somewhat prove as enough motivation to the current players to play hard since no one is untouchable in their roster.

Twins' Ervin Santana will pitch against New York. He's 16-8 with a 3.28 ERA and has 167 strikeouts. New York will counter with Luis Severino. He's 14-6 with a 2.98 ERA and 230 strikeouts.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed the New York Yankees as the favorites to beat the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night.
