2017 MLB Season:Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Cincinnati RedsJuly 18, 2017 by Marc Jerbs

On Tuesday, the Cincinnati Reds will host the 1st match of a three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks at the Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, Ohio. First pitch is set at 7:10AM ET.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are having the best start of their franchise history. But it has turned sour over the couple of weeks with losses in 11 of their last 14 games which includes a five-game losing streak. Arizona would like to get its bearings back as they face Cincinnati on the road.

The Cincinnati Reds are slowly but surely finding its rhythm as a rebuilding team this season. They are not foreseen as a playoff contender team but will use this season to build chemistry and cohesiveness in the coming seasons ahead. The Reds may be rebuilding but they are a highly competitive club that can competitive against a veteran team. Arizona knows this since they Cincinnati won 2 of 3 games against them right after the All-Star break.

Left-hander Robbie Ray will start for the Diamondbacks and has a league-leading 1.34 ERA on games played on the road. Although, he is winless against Cincinnati this season with a 4.91 ERA in two starts. Reds manager Bryan Price will give the ball to right-hander Sal Romano. He will try to earn his 2nd win of the season after picking up his first major league win last July 6 against Colorado.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed the Arizona Diamondbacks as a 1.5-point favorite to beat the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday night.
