2018 PGA / European Major Championship: 118th US OpenJune 14, 2018 by Marc Jerbs

The Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, NY will host the 2nd major championship of the PGA/European Tour, the 118th US Open. Starting June 14 until June 17, the top 156 golf players all over the world which includes former US Open champions will have their hands full in the 18-hole golf course.

The 7,445 yards Par 70 golf course last hosted the US Open in 2004. South Africa's Retief Goosen defeated American Phil Mickelson for two-stroke victory.

Defending champion Brooks Koepka will defend his title against an elite field of players. Leading the charge to unseat Brooks Koepka is new world No. 1 Dustin Johnson.

Dustin Johnson is fresh from a 19-under par 261 win in last week's FedEx St. Jude Classic. He has his A-game with him and is seen as one of the frontrunners. Six other players that should Brooks Koepka are Justin Rose, Rickie Fowler, Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth and Jason Day.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed Dustin Johnson as the favorite to win the 118th US Open on Sunday afternoon.
