2018 Triple Crown: 150th Belmont Stakes June 08, 2018 by Marc Jerbs

On Saturday, the last leg of the 2018 Triple Crown race series, the Belmont Stakes, will be held at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. The 1.5 mile Grade-I horse race is open to three year thoroughbreds. The Belmont Stakes is the longest among the three Triple Crown races thus is dubbed as "The Test of the Champion" race.

Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner Justify will attempt to became the 13th race horse to win the all the Triple Crown races. American Pharoah was the last winner of the Triple Crown in 2015.

American Pharaoh has the same trainer with Justify, the renowned Bob Baffert. If Justify ends up as Belmont Stakes winner, it will be Bob Baffert's 2nd Triple Crown winning horse.

The other nine horses that could derail Justify's bid includes Hofburg, Vino Rosso, Bravazo, Tenfold, Blended Citizen, Gronkowski, Noble Indy, Restoring Hope and Free Drop Billy.

The horse race handicappers have installed Justify as the favorite to win the Belmont Stakes on Saturday.
