Super Bowl XLIV:
Indianapolis Colts vs.
New Orleans Saints
February 02, 2010 by Marc Jerbs

On February 7, 2010, Sunday, the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saint will face each other for a chance to hoist the championship trophy in Super Bowl XLIV. This event will be held in Florida at the Sun Life Stadium. These two teams have survived the physical demands, rugged games and extreme pressure during the regular and playoff season.

The Indianapolis Colts emerged as the AFC Champion after beating out the NY Jets. While the New Orleans Saints won the NFC Championship after eking an OT thriller win against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Colts and Saints are teams that have a lot in common. Both have highly rated offensive and defensive players in their play sets. The Colts have QB Peyton Manning, RBs Joseph Addai and Donald Brown, WRs Collie Austin and Pierre Garcon. The Saints could counter with QB Drew Brees, RBs Reggie Bush and Thomas Pierre, WRs Marques Colston and Robert Meachem.

But no matter how they are equal in with their player match ups. The Colts still has the advantage; they have the experience factor under their belt after winning the Super Bowl XLI. They know how to handle the game time pressure and it's quite different compared to the regular and playoff season. Plus, QB Peyton Manning is the best in reading the opponent's defensive sets in every play and has the innate ability to throw the football quickly with pin-point accuracy.

The lingering questions prior to Sunday's game, will Colts DE Dwight Freeney play after suffering a third degree ankle sprain during their last game? How could the Saints take advantage of the situation? Bookmakers still installed the Colts as a 5.5-point favorite to beat the Saints on Sunday.
