The Newcastle Racecourse, or otherwise known as the Broadmeadow Racecourse, is located on the Hunter Coast in New South Wales, Australia.
It's a 2-hour drive north of Sydney and has been offering Racing for 100+ years.
The course holds around 26 race meetings throughout the year on Saturday.
It's well known for the Boxing Day Races, which attracts a huge crowd to the track.
Newcastle also features Group racing, headlined by the Newcastle Newmarket Handicap, which is a lead-up race for the Group 1 Epsom Handicap.
This track is designed in an oval-shaped layout and offers a wide track for Racing.
It can hold sprint races starting at 900 metres as well as longer races around 2400 metres.
The home straight is fairly long at 415 metres, giving strong finishers a good opportunity to win at Newcastle.
1848 marked the first time Racing was held at this track as locals cleared the bush area within a location known as Wallaby Flat.
In 1907, the Newcastle Jockey Club was formed and is still in operation to this day.
The course offers an impressive training centre that has seen many champions bred in Newcastle.
