Ruakaka Racecourse is a picturesque track boasting ocean views along the coastline of New Zealand.
The course is located directly north of Auckland and is well known as one the best "all weather" tracks in New Zealand.
It's owned and managed by the Whangarei Racing Club. Throughout the Racing season, Ruakaka Racecourse hosts approximately 8 meetings.
The surface at Ruakaka is laid with kikuyu turf and rye over-sown in the winter.
Originally, the Whangarei Racing Club was formed in 1902 and held race meetings at Kensington Park.
From 1974 onwards, race meetings were moved to the current Ruakaka Racecourse location.
