After 10 days of play, the Australian Open reached its quarterfinal round with only the best in the men's and women's singles event remained.

In women's singles event, top seed Victoria Azarenka reached the semifinal round by a virtue of a 7-5, 6-1 win over Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova. Her semifinal foe would be the winner between Americans Serena Williams and Sloane Stephens. The other semifinal match is between sixth seed Na Li and second seed Maria Sharapova.

In the men's singles event, Novak Djokovic showed no signs of fatigue as he dispatched fifth seed Tomas Berdych 6-1, 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 to reach the semifinals. He'll face fourth seed David Ferrer who advanced by beating compatriot Nicolas Almagro 4-6, 4-6, 7-5, 7-6, 6-2.

For Wednesday, third seed Andy Murray will play Jeremy Chardy and second seed Roger Federer will meet seventh seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. The winner on both will face each other in the 2nd match of the semifinals.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed Andy Murray and Roger Federer as the favorites to advance in the Australian Open men's singles semifinals.
