On Sunday, the famous Albert Park street circuit in Melbourne, Australia will host the opening season race of Formula One racing, the Australian Grand Prix. Race time is set at 5PM Australian time.

The 58-lap race will cover a race distance of 307.574km. Each lap will have a circuit length of 5.303km. The fastest lap record belongs to F1 great Michael Schumacher by circling the track in 1min 24.125 seconds in the 2004 season.

The fans will have the opportunity to view and gauge the latest F1 cars this season during the practice sessions. The first and second practice session will be held on Friday. The qualifying session is set to start on Saturday at 5PM Australian time.

The Red Bull-Renault team has won the constructor and driver's title three straight in a row. This season, they will shoot for their 4th straight win. Based on the recent offseason testing their RB9 race car still has a lot of fine tuning to be done if they want to win it all again.

Their strongest competitors this season would be Ferrari's F138 and McLaren-Mercedes MP4-28. Both cars have registered different fastest times and extreme reliability during their track test.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed Red Bull-Renault's Sebastian Vettel as the favorite to win the Australian Grand Prix this Sunday. Ferrari's Fernando Alonso and McLaren-Mercedes' Jenson Button are his main challengers on race day.
