February 27, 2012 by Marc Jerbs

On Thursday, the PGA Tour moves to PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida for the Honda Classic. The winner of the 72-hole stroke play tournament format will take home $1,054,000 cash prize plus 500 points in the FedExCup standings.

A total of 144 golfers from all over the world will compete including the top 2 golfers, defending Honda Classic champion Rory McIlroy and World No. 2 Tiger Woods. Both golfers will try to erase their 1st round exit in last week's WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship.

Rory McIlroy was paired with Ernie Els and Mark Wilson. The trio will start their 1st round at 12:25PM ET at the 10th tee of the PGA National Champion course. Tiger Woods will start in the morning at 7:25AM ET together with Dustin Johnson and Martin Kaymer.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed Tiger Woods as the favorite to win the Honda Classic. Rory McIlroy, Charl Schwartzel and Justin are the main challengers of Woods in this tournament.
