2014 Global Sprint Challenge: Black Caviar Lightning

On Saturday, the Flemington Racecourse in Victoria, Australia will host the 1st leg of the 2014 Global Sprint Challenge, the Black Caviar Lightning.

The Black Caviar Lightning is a Group 1 standard for weight for age race and will cover 1000 meter of the racecourse. This race was formally known as Lightning Stakes but was renamed to sprinting superstar Black Caviar. Black Caviar won the Lightning Stakes for three straight years from 2011 to 2013.

A total of 13 horses will participate in the Black Caviar Lightning led by Samaready. Samaready is the 2012 Blue Diamond Stakes and Group 1 Moir Stakes will compete against Bugatty, Boomwaa, Snitzerland and Bernabeu.

The horse race handicappers have installed Samaready as the favorite to win the Black Caviar Lightning race. Snitzerland, Bernabeu and Shamexpress are among the horses that could compete against Samaready.
