Men's and Women's Singles Competition: 2018 Australian Open

The 1st Grand Slam tournament (Australian Open) is underway in Melbourne, Australia. This Grand Slam tournament will run from January 15 up to 28. It's Day 4 in the tournament which will feature the 2nd round matches in the men's and women's Singles competition.

In the men's singles competition, top seed Rafael Nadal has advance into the 3rd round and will face 28th seed Damir Dzumhur. Bulgarian and third seed Grigor Dimitrov also move into the next round and will face 30th ranked Andrey Rublev. Other top players who advanced into the 3rd round were 6th seed Marin Cilic and 5th seed Dominic Thiem.

For the women's singles competition, 2nd seed Caroline Wozniacki moved into the 3rd round after an entertaining match in the 2nd round with Jana Fett, she won in three sets, 6-3, 2-6, 7-5. 4th seed Elina Svitolina also moved into the 3rd round and she will face fellow Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk. 6th seed Karolina Pliskova, 7th seed Jelena Ostapenko and 8th seed Caroline Garcia are among the top women players who advanced in the 3rd round.
