ATP/WTA Grand Slam - 2015 US Open
September 02, 2015 by Marc Jerbs

From August 31 up to September 13, the USTA National Tennis Center in New York will host the 2015 US Open. This is the fourth and last Grand Slam tournament of the season.

At the start of the first round action, only few of the top ranked tennis were eliminated in the Men's and Women's Singles events. Last year's Men's Singles Final competitor Kei Nishikori was booted in the first round. In the Women's Singles event, 7th seed Ana Ivanovic and 8th seed Karolina Pliskova were also eliminated in their first round matches.

The main storyline in this year's US Open is World No. 1 Serena Williams' attempt to win all Grand Slam tennis events. She has three Grand Slam title this season, the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon. She is the defending US Open champion after defeating Caroline Wozniacki in straight sets. Complacency would be Williams' major roadblock for her quest but if she could show the determination and hunger she exhibited in her last three Grand Slam wins she could win the US Open again.

The tennis handicappers have installed Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams as the favorites to the US Open in their respective singles' events.
