South Australia Horseracing: 2014 Australasian Oaks

On Saturday, the Morphettville Racecourse in South Australia will host the Australasian Oaks. It is a Group 1 Australian thoroughbred horse race for three-year old fillies at set weights and run over a distance of 2000 meters.

It is the 6th race of the day which will start at 3:05PM local time. Total prize money of A$400,000 is up for grabs in the race. The race winner will receive A$254,600 of the prize money while 2nd place will get A$68,400.

A total of 16 fillies will participate in the Australasian Oaks. Melbourne trainer Peter Moody will field four horses while Robert Smerdon, David Hayes and Greg Eurell will have two runners each.

Peter Moody has enlisted In Masquerade, Quayside, Lady Tatia and Akagera in the race. Smerdon's horses would be Every Faith and Rezoned while Hayes will have Star Fashion and Rasa Lila. Eurell will bring in Perfect Company and Navajo Run.

The horse race handicappers have installed May's Dream as the horse to beat in the Australasian Oaks. Girl in Fight, Scratchy Bottom and In Masquerade are among May's Dream worthy challengers.
