On Tuesday, the Phoenix Mercury will face the Atlanta Dream at the McCamish Pavilion in Atlanta, GA. Game time is set at 7:00PM ET. Both teams are well-rested due to the All-Star break and festivities. Phoenix and Atlanta will continue its push towards the playoffs as the 2nd half of the WNBA season begins.
Phoenix did not end the 1st half of their season leading up to All-Star on a winning note. They have lost their last three games and center Brittney Griner went down with an injury and is expected to be out for a month. With Griner out, expect Diana Taurasi to carry the load for Mercury and hold the fort until Griner's return. Mercury's 5-game road-trip without the services of Brittney Griner will make or break their season.
Atlanta was also in a funk before the All-Star break, losers of three of their last four games. The losses push them downward to eight place in the league standings. This is the second match-up for both teams and Atlanta could even things up after an 89-84 loss against Phoenix last July 12.
