LA Lakers faces the Charlotte Bobcats in Staples CenterFebruary 03, 2010 by Marc Jerbs

On Wednesday, the LA Lakers returns home from a road trip loss against the Memphis Grizzlies to face the Charlotte Bobcats. Expect a raucous crowd in Staples Center as they honor Kobe Bryant's historic milestone as he sits alone as the Lakers' scoring record leader previously held by the great Jerry West.

Kobe eclipsed the record with a 44-point performance against the Grizzlies but it would have been more special if they won the game. The Lakers are slowly regaining their focus and intensity during their scheduled road games. The LA fans would like to have their team's swagger and competitiveness back before the season takes a break for the All-Star Weekend.

The Charlotte Bobcats are a very young team but with the inclusion of veteran Stephen Jackson in the lineup, some East teams are in praise since the Bobcats have a decent record. They may have a chance to o enter the playoffs race with Jackson leading his young and energetic ball players.

Handicappers still believe that with Kobe playing injured for the rest of the season, they still installed the Lakers as a 9-point favorite to beat the promising Bobcats on Wednesday night.
