U.S. Triple Crown: 2020 Preakness Stakes October 01, 2020 by Marc Jerbs

On Saturday, the Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland will host the final leg of the U.S. Triple Crown, the 2020 Preakness Stakes.

This year's race will be the 145th edition for three-year olds and run a total race distance of 1 3/16 miles.

The Preakness Stakes is usually held every third Saturday of May and two weeks after the Kentucky Deby.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the U.S. Triple Crown races was rescheduled and all races would be held without spectators.

Post time is set at 5:45PM EDT with 11 horses participating in the race.

There will be no Triple Crown winner this year after Belmont winner Tiz The Law was upset by Authentic at the Kentucky Derby.

Authentic who will start at Post No. 9 will attempt to snatch a double crown after an awesome ride in the Kentucky Derby.

A threat in Authentic's double crown aspiration is a new runner, Art Collector.

Art Collector is in superb form coming of wins at the Blue Grass Stakes and Ellis Park Derby.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed Authentic as the horse to beat on Saturday's Preakness Stakes.
