2014 Formula One: Australian Grand Prix
March 12, 2014 by Marc Jerbs

On Sunday, the Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit in Albert Park, Australia will host the opening race of the 2014 Formula One season, the Australian Grand Prix.

The 58-lap race will cover a race distance of 307.574km. Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher holds the fastest lap record on this circuit as he completed one lap in 1 min 24.125 second.

This season, all team will have to adjust on the rule changes implemented FIA. One important change made was the 2.4 liter V8s engine replaced by a 1.6 litre V6s engine. An engine change is tricky even if performed well during winter testing. A durable and reliable engine is a key ingredient in Formula One racing.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed Mercedes' driver Lewis Hamilton as the favorite to win the Australian Grand Prix. Teammate Nico Rosberg and Ferrari's Fernando Alonso are his strongest challengers on Sunday's race.
