2010 NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup:Sylvania 300September 14, 2010 by Marc Jerbs

On Sunday, the "Chase for the Sprint Cup" formally starts with the Sylvania 300 race at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH. The "Chase for the Sprint Cup" is NASCAR's version of the playoff season. Only the Top 12 drivers who qualified have the chance to win and emerge as the 2010 Sprint Cup champion.

Denny Hamlin claimed the top seed in the "Chase for the Sprint Cup" after a dominant win in last Saturday's Air Guard 400. He earned his sixth win of the season and regained his confidence back before the start of the "Chase for the Sprint Cup" races.

The other drivers who qualified were: Jimmie Johnson, Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, Tony Stewart, Greg Bifle, Jeff Gordon, Carl Edwards, Jeff Burton, Matt Kenseth and Clint Bowyer. Notable drivers who didn't qualified were: Ryan Newman, Jamie McMurray, Mark Martin, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kasey Kahne.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed Jimmie Johnson as the favorite to win the first race of the "Chase for the Sprint Cup". However, Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch are his formidable challengers this coming weekend.
