2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series:Kobalt Tools 500March 03, 2010 by Marc Jerbs

On Sunday, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series shifts to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Kobalt Tools 500. This is the 4th race of the 36-race season for NASCAR. Kurt Busch is the defending series winner for this race and he expects a hard race from his competitors.

The hottest driver this season is Jimmie Johnson. He won back-to-back races at California and Las Vegas. Yet, he only sits in 5th place at the Sprint Cup Series standings. He's 63 points behind surprise leader Kevin Harvick.

The top 10 drivers in the standings are all battle tested and could rightly challenge Kevin Harvick at the top. These drivers are Clint Bowyer, Mark Martin, Matt Kenseth, Greg Bifle, Jeff Burton, David Reutimann, Carl Edwards and youngster Joey Logano.

It seems like that Kevin Harvick might not hold on the top spot this Sunday. Race handicappers have installed Jimmie Johnson as the favorite to win the Kobalt Tools 500. Jeff Gordon and Mark Martin are also considered a threat.
