2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series:Kobalt Tools 400March 02, 2009 by Marc Jerbs

On Sunday, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series moves to Las Vegas, Nevada for the Kobalt Tools 400. This 400-mile race will be held at the 1.5-mile D-shaped oval Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Last week, Jeff Gordon ended his 66-race winless streak by taking the checkered flag at the Subway Fresh Fit 500.

He bested runner-up Kyle Busch by a mere 1.137 seconds. Big names like Jimmie Johnson, Kevin Harvick, Kasey Kahne, Kurt Busch and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. barged in the Top 10 finishers of the race.

With 2 official races done, Kyle Busch leads the driver's standings with 80 points.

He's followed by Kurt Busch, Tony Stewart, AJ Allmendinger, Jeff Gordon, Mark Martin, Bobby Labonte, Ryan Newman, Juan Montoya and David Gilliland.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed five-time champion Jimmie Johnson as the favorite to beat the rest of the field in the Kobalt Tools 400. He's outside of the Top 10 in the driver's standing but he's slowly climbing up and is poised to challenge all teams who's out to dethrone him this season.
