2011 NBA East Matchup:
Indiana Pacers vs. Miami HeatFebruary 08, 2011 by Marc Jerbs

On Tuesday night, the Indiana Pacers plays the Miami Heat at the AmericanAirlines Arena for showdown between two Eastern Conference teams. These two teams have contrasting fortunes as the midseason approaches.

The Pacers are currently in 8th place in the Eastern Conference with a losing record of 21-27. The team is underperforming this season, due to their inconsistencies and injuries to key players. However, things have started to pick up in their recent games which earned them a four-game winning streak. Their winning streak is on the line as they met the streaking Miami Heat on the road.

The Heat was clobbered by the Pacer in their first meeting of the season last November. This is the month wherein the team was in turmoil and was ridiculed by sports analysts. The trio of Wade, James and Bosh were subjected to various scrutiny and insults.

Yet, the Heat persevered with their goals. They earned a 15-1 record in December, have moved up to 2nd place in the Eastern Conference and currently leads the tough Southeast division with a 37-14 record.

For the Wade, James and Bosh, Tuesday night's game is pay back time for their woeful loss last November against the Pacers. These three players are now comfortable playing with each other as well as with their role players.

The sportsbook handicappers have placed the Miami Heat as an 11-point favorite to beat the Indiana Pacers. An overwhelming odd like this would mean a tough night for the Pacers, but if they caught Heat with a bad night then the Pacers earn an upset win.
