2012 NBA Playoffs Game 5:New York Knicks at Miami HeatMay 08, 2012 by Marc Jerbs

On Wednesday, the 1st round NBA playoffs between the NY Knicks and Miami Heat shift back to Florida for Game 5. Game time is set at 7PM ET.

The New York Knicks finally won their 1st playoff game after 16 straight losses. In Game 4, New York managed to stay alive to force extend their series against Miami. It was the superb play of Carmelo Anthony that gave the Knicks another lease of life.

The Knick showed tremendous pride to win Game 4 but they loss another player on their roster. Veteran PG Baron Davis suffered a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee, a potential career-ending injury. New York only has Mike Bibby left in the PG position and Jeremy Lin is still doubtful for Game 5.

The Miami Heat could have force overtime in Game 4 but the Knicks' defense managed to hold the last second play of Dwayne Wade. With Game 5 back at home court, the Big 3 hopes to turn on the heat against the Knicks and finally close out the series.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed the Miami Heat as an 11-point favorite to beat the New York Knicks. New York may be in for a tough game, Miami is 28-5 this season at the AmericanAirlines Arena.
