On Tuesday, the New Jersey Devils play Florida Panthers in Game 3 of the 1st round of the NHL Eastern Conference playoffs. Game time is set at 7:00PM ET and Prudential Center in Newark will host the match.

The New Jersey Devils managed to split the first two games against the Florida Panthers. With the series tied at one game apiece, New Jersey like their chances since three of the next four games is scheduled at Prudential Center.

The Devils may have a problem playing at home during the playoffs. They have not escaped the first round in their last three postseason appearances and has a 3-7 playoff record at home.

The Florida Panthers would have wanted to have a 2-0 series lead going into Game 3. In Game 1, they could not put the puck past Devils' goalie Martin Brodeur during crunch time. Things were different in Game 2 as the Panthers started fast and managed to punch a hole in Brodeur's goal defense.

Florida has the advantage in terms of power plays. They are 3 of 7 with an extra man while New Jersey has only converted 1 of 8. Penalties occurs every game especially in the playoffs, a team which scores frequently during power plays have the chance to win series.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed the New Jersey Devils as a 1.5-point favorite to beat the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night.
