2013 MLB Season:Philadelphia Phillies vs.
St. Louis CardinalsJuly 23, 2013 by Marc Jerbs

On Tuesday, the Philadelphia Phillies travel to Busch Stadium in Missouri to face the St. Louis Cardinals in a three-game series. The first pitch will be thrown at 8:15PM ET.

The first game of the series will feature two rookie right hander pitchers that would be valuable for both teams' pitcher rotation. Pitcher Shelby Miller has a 9-6 record and 2.92 ERA will be the man on the mound for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Miller was given an extended break after his last game in July 10. He was given a lot of rest as a precautionary measure for an expected playoff run by the Cardinals. They want him well rested as they start the 2nd half of the regular season.

Phillies' Jonathan Pettibone is 2-0 with a 2.79 ERA in his last five starts and he's doing his share to help the Phillies reach the playoffs. However, Philadelphia must start putting up winning streak in order to have a chance to catch the leader in the NL East or at least qualify for a wild card spot.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed the St. Louis Cardinals as a 1.5-point favorite to beat the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday night.
