On Thursday, the Firestone Country Club's South Course in Akron, Ohio will host the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. The tournament will run from July 31 up to Aug 3.

The WGC-Bridgestone Invitational is a 72-hole stroke play and has a 77-man field. The winner will take home $1,530,000 of the $9 million purse. 8th time winner and defending champion Tiger Woods will try to win his first tournament since his return from back surgery.

The group of John Senden, Patrick Reed, Matt Every and Branden Grace will open the tournament at 9:10AM ET. While British Open champion Rory McIlroy will start at 10:30PM ET together with Sergio Garcia. Defending champion Tiger Woods will start later in the day at 2:20PM ET with Martin Kaymer, Steve Stricker and Thomas Bjorn.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed Rory McIlroy as the favorite to win the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. Adam Scott, Tiger Woods and Justin Rose are his main competitors in the tournament.
