2015 NFL Season Opening Game:Pittsburgh Steelers vs.
New England PatriotsSeptember 08, 2014 by Marc Jerbs

On Thursday, SuperBowl XLIX champion New England Patriots begins its title defense against the Pittsburgh Steelers. This is the opening game of the 2015 NFL season which will be held at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts. Kick off time is set at 8:30PM ET.

Patriots' QB Tom Brady will play the opening game after his four-game suspension was lifted by a federal judge after being penalized by the NFL for his involvement in the now famous "Deflategate". The NFL filed an appeal on the ruling but Brady will still be allowed to play while his case undergoes the appeal process.

New England would be in a better position to defend their SuperBowl title with Tom Brady at helm in the quarterback position. Without him for four-games would be a big blow for the Patriots and every player in the roster knows that for sure.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are itchy and anxious to get the first crack on the SuperBowl champions. Pittsburgh are poised to disrupt and play hard on TE Rob Gronkowski while they pressure QB Tom Brady in the pocket. New England is thin at the receiver position with Brandon LaFell injured. Gronkowski will be on the Pittsburgh's radar every New England's offensive snap.

The football handicappers have installed the New England Patriots as a 6.5-point favorite to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night.
