2016 King George VI Weekend:King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes

On Saturday, the Ascot Racecourse in Ascot, England will host the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes. The King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes is a Group 1 flat horse race open to horse aged three years or older.

The race will cover a total race distance of 1 mile and 4 furlongs equivalent to 2,414 meters. The feature race will start at 4:30PM local and the race winner will receive £652,000 of Saturday's £1.15million total stake prize.

The nine-horse stakes race is led by last month's Hardwicke Stakes' winner Dartmouth. Aidan O'Brien-trained Highland Reel, who was beaten by Dartmouth in Hardwicke Stakes is also entered for the race. Another promising horse, Postponed was ruled out by trainer Roger Varian due to respiratory infection.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed Dartmouth as the odds on favorite to win the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes on Saturday noon. Challenging Dartmouth in the race will be Highland Reel, Wings of Desire and Erupt.
