Washington NationalsAugust 09, 2016 by Marc Jerbs

On Tuesday, the Washington Nationals will host a 2-game series against the Cleveland Indians at Nationals Park in Washington, DC. This first pitch is set at 7:05AM ET.

NL East-leading Washington Nationals is fresh from taking 2 out of 3 games against the NL West-leading San Francisco Giants. Washington will have Max Scherzer on the mound against Cleveland. He has a 12-6 record with 2.87 ERA with 108 Ks and has only issued 16 walks since June.

The Nationals and Indians met two weeks ago and split a pair of wins. However, Cleveland has dropped five of their last seven games. Cleveland still leads in their division but the Detriot Tigers are slowly making their move to the top.

Trevor Bauer, who is 7-5 with 4.08 ERA will pitch for the Indians. He wants to bounce back from his poor outing after allowing a career-high 8 runs in 2 2/3 innings in his last game against Minnesota.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed the Washington Nationals as the favorite to beat the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday night.
