2016 MLB Season:San Diego Padres vs.
Atlanta BravesAugust 30, 2016 by Marc Jerbs

On Tuesday, the Atlanta Braves will host the San Diego Padres in a three-game series at Turner Field in Atlanta, Georgia. First pitch is set at 7:10AM ET.

High-priced veteran Matt Kemp will play for the first time against his former team. He was traded to the Atlanta Braves as the Padres would want to shed his hefty payroll and viewed him as not the same top-calibre player anymore.

Atlanta took a risk in getting Matt Kemp. Kemp has three homers and 16 runs batted in since joining the Braves. His presence in the batting order improved the team's offense. Hitting at the cleanup spot between Freddie Freeman and Nick Markakis also work wonders for both players.

The San Diego Padres will send to the mound Edwin Jackson who has a 3-4 record and 5.71 ERA. The Atlanta Braves will counter with underperforming Julio Teheran who has a 3-9 record and 5.71 ERA.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed the Atlanta Braves as the favorites to win the 1st game of the three-game series against the San Diego Padres on Tuesday night.
