2017-18 NBA Season Opening Features Two Great Matches October 17, 2017 by Marc Jerbs

On Tuesday, the 2017-18 NBA season formally opens with a game each in the East and Western Conference. The opening game will start at 8PM ET at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio as the Boston Celtics goes up against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Celtics' guard Kyrie Irving will face his former team as a result of his requested trade last offseason. He believes that his move to Boston will finally showcase his true potential and leader of his new team. Isaiah Thomas and Jae Crowder also switched team as they will now play alongside Lebron James. Injured Isaiah Thomas won't be ready to play when Cleveland face his former team.

The second game will start at 10:30PM ET as the defending champion Golden State Warriors will host the Houston Rockets at ORACLE Arena in Oakland, CA. Prior to tip-off, Golden State's players will receive their championship rings at center court.

Houston acquired in the offseason All-Star PG Chris Paul in order to strengthen their chance to challenge and beat the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference. By adding Chris Paul in their line-up they felt it will improve their chances to dethrone Golden State.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors as the favorites to win their first game of the season against their respective opponents.
