The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, England will host the third Grand Slam tournament of the 2017 season, The Championships. This is the oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament simply known as Wimbledon.
The Championships is the only major tournament played on grass after the Australian Open shifted to hardcourt as its playing surface in 1988. Defending men's singles champion and local hero Andy Murray will play to defend his title while women's singles champion Serena Williams has skipped the tournament due to her pregnancy.
