2017 National Hunt: Welsh Grand National
January 04, 2018 by Marc Jerbs

On the Saturday, the rescheduled Welsh Grand National will push through at the Chepstow Racecourse in Chepstow, Wales. The Welsh Grand National is a Grade 3 National Hunt steeplechase which is open to horses aged four years and older.

The handicap race will cover a total race distance of 3 miles and 5½ furlongs combined with twenty two fences to be jumped. The race was scheduled every 27th of December but was postponed due to rain and snow which made the racecourse unfit for the horses to race.

Leading the 25-horse field is two-time Scottish Grand National winner Paul Nicholls-trained Vicente. Other top notch horses in the race includes Philips Hobbs-trained Rock The Kasbah, David Dennis-trained Final Nudge and Jack Barber-trained Ask The Weatherman.

The horse race handicappers have installed Beware The Bear as the horse to beat on Saturday's Welsh Grand National.
