March 30, 2017 by Marc Jerbs

The Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas will host the Shell Houston Open from March 30 up to April 2. This is the last tune-up tournament before the Masters which will be held on April 6-9 at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, GA.

The tournament course of the Golf Club in Houston will be used for the Shell Houston Open. This 18-hole Par 72 course has 7,457 yards in length was designed by Rees Jones and David Toms. It was built across a wooded landscape combined with natural lakes and wetlands.

Last year, defending champion Jim Herman won his first PGA Tour title after a one-shot lead over Henrik Stenson. It was a last gap win that secured him a last-minute slot at the Masters.

Texas native and World No. 6 Jordan Spieth will be playing close at home and he will be joined by fellow Top 10 golfers No. 5 Henrik Stenson, No. 8 Adam Scott and No. 9 Rickie Fowler. Opening the first round of the Shell Houston will be the trio of Ken Duke, Boo Weekley and Robert Allenby at 7:30AM local time.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed Jordan Spieth the man to beat in the 4-day Shell Houston Open. John Rahm and Henrik Stenson are among his strongest challengers throughout the tournament.
