2018 French Open: Third Round Action Starts in Day 6

On Friday, it is Day 6 of the 2018 French Open at the Roland Garros in Paris, France. The third round matched officially start in the Men's and Women's singles competition.

Men's top seed Rafael Nadal breezed through in his first two matches. He easily dispatched Simone Bolelli and Guido Pella in straight sets in order to advance in the third round. His next opponent is 27th seed Richard Gasquet.

In the women's side, top seed Simona Halep also advance in the third round by beating Americans Alison Riske and Taylor Townsend.

Halep will next meet Andrea Petcovic. A new women's champion will be crowned this year as defending champion Jelena Ostapenko went out in her first round match against Kateryna Kozlova.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed Rafael Nadal and Simona Halep as the favorites to win in their respective singles event at the 2018 French Open.
