2019 European / PGA Tour: The Masters April 11, 2019 by Marc Jerbs

On Thursday, the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia will host the first major golf championship, the Masters Tournament. The Masters has the smallest field of the four major championships. It is an invitational event, players who meet published criteria automatically receive an invitation.

Defending champion Patrick Reed will return to defend his title against the Top 50 players in the Official World Golf Ranking as well as former Masters champions and winners from the three other major championship.

World No. 1 Justin Rose will be Patrick Reed's main challengers as well the rest of the Top 10 which includes Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas, Bryson DeChambeau, Francesco Molinari, Jon Rahm, Rickie Fowler and Xander Schauffele.

Four-time Masters champion Tiger Woods will also play and he will join the group of Haotong Li and Jon Rahm in the first two round.

This will be the 22nd time that Tiger Woods will play in the Masters. It will also his 6th start for the 2019 season. He has gradually climbed up at the leaderboard in his last five tournaments.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed Rory McIlroy as the favorite to win the Masters and don his first green jacket on Sunday noon.
