2019 PGA/European Tour:
The Open Championship July 18, 2019 by Marc Jerbs

On Thursday, the Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland will host the final major of the golf season, The Open Championship. It is the oldest among the four majors and it is the only major played outside the United States.

This is the 2nd time that the Royal Portrush will host the Open Championship since 1951.

The course has a new look and two new holes was created for Royal Portrush 2nd Open.

This course does not demand golfers to shoot long balls but it requires players to consider all angles and option before hitting their balls in each hole.

Defending champion Francisco Molinari will have a full four days to content with the best golfers in his class.

He'll contend with Northern Ireland's homegrown talents of Rory McIlroy, Graeme McDowell and Darren Clarke.

Americans Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Tiger Woods and Bryson DeChambeau will also be Molinari's major threats.

Australian's Adam Scott and Jason Day might also give trouble to Molinari's back-to-back Open title.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed Rory McIlroy as the favorite to win the Open Championship on Sunday afternoon.
