On Thursday, the Washington Football Team will face the New England Patriots in the opening games of the 2021-22 NFL Preseason Week 1.

Kick-off is set 7:30PM EDT at the Gillette Stadium.

Washington signed veteran QB Ryan Fitzpatrick to challenge Taylor Heinicke for the team's No. 1 quarterback.

Both players will be given ample games to show on who will carry the team once the regular season starts.

New England also has a QB competition with rookie Mac Jones and returning Cam Newton.

However, Cam Newton has an edge as he was last season's quarterback after replacing Tom Brady.

Coach Bill Belichick will not let Cam Newton play in Week 1 of the preseason but might use rookie QB Mac Jones instead.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed the Washington Football Team as the favorites to win over the New England Patriots on Thursday night's NFL Preseason Week 1.
