2021 MLB Opening Season Game: Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Yankees March 31, 2020 by Marc Jerbs

On Thursday, the 2021 MLB season will begin with the opening game between the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees.

The first pitch is set at 1:05PM EDT at the Yankee Stadium.

The Yankees are once again favored to rule the AL East with its vaunted line-up.

For the first time since the pandemic occurred, 20% of Yankee Stadium's capacity will be allowed to watch the opening home game.

It will further uplift the morale of the players seeing people across their bench.

The Toronto Blue Jays will feature an exciting roster stocked with young talent.

They are expected to compete hard against any team in the MLB as well in their division.

The Blue Jays gave the starting nod to their ace pitcher Hyun Jin Ryu.

In 2020, Hyun Jin Ryu posted a 2.69 ERA and was third in the AL CY Young award voting.

The New York Yankees will be handled by their ace pitcher, Gerrit Cole.

This would be his 2nd season after posting a 7-3 record with 2.84 ERA last 2020.

He's 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA against the Blue Jays last season.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed the New York Yankees as the favorite to win gainst the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday's opening game of the 2021 MLB season.
