2021 PGA Tour: THE PLAYERS Championship March 11, 2020 by Marc Jerbs

On Thursday, the TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida will host the PLAYERS Championship and is the third tournament in the "Florida Swing" of the 2021 PGA Tour.

The four-day tournament will play as as a par 72, measuring 7,189 yards of the TPC Sawgrass.

Last year, the tournament was cancelled due to COVID-19 with Hideki Matsuyama leading after a 9-under par first round score.

Expect the tournament to be completed this time as all safety protocols are implemented since the start of the 2021 PGA Tour season.

Forty-eight of the top 50 ranked golfers will be in attendance, all are targeting to win THE PLAYERS Championship.

The course is not that challenging but once the wind picks up, the golfers should be ready to adjust their play.

Leading the top ranked golfer in this tournament will be current FedExCup champion and world no. 1 Dustin Johnson and 2019 winner Rory McIlroy.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed Dustin Johnson as the golfer to beat on Sunday's last round of THE PLAYERS Championship.
