2024 EuroLeague Round 23 Preview - Real Madrid vs. Olympiacos: Can Olympiacos topple the defending champions? January 25, 2024 by Marc Jerbs

On Thursday, Real Madrid will go up against Olympiacos Piraeus in Round 23 of the 2024 EuroLeague season. Game time is set 7:45PM GMT at the Wizink Center in Madrid, Spain.

This is a rematch of last season's championship wherein Real Madrid lifted the EuroLeague title after a one-point win against Olympiacos. The defending champion suffered humiliating loss against AS Monaco in Round 22. Coach Chus Mateo hopes that his players will bounce back against their rival Olympiacos Piraeus. He knows that Olympiacos is a very dangerous team because they are built with good players and will fight them from toe-to-toe.

Olympiacos Piraeus are coming off a superb win against Maccabi. They are eager to meet the defending champions and hand them a back-to-back loss. Nikola Milutinov dished out a double-double (20 points and 20 rebounds) in their last game. He is expected to lock horns with Real's Vincent Poirier while Thomas Walkup will slow down assist leader Facundo Campazzo. Both teams have enough players to match with each other, defense will dictate this game and the team who has it will eventually win.
