PGA / European Tour Major Championship:145th Open Championship

On Thursday, the Royal Troon Golf Course in South Ayrshire, Scotland will host the 145th Open Championship. The Open is the oldest of the four major championship in professional golf. This is the 8th time that the Royal Troon Golf Course will be the venue of prestigious golf tournament.

Zach Johnson is set to return the Claret Jug and will defend it against 47 of the top 50 golfers in the world. He won the 144th Open at the Old Course at St. Andrews by winning in a 4-hole playoff against Marc Leishman and Louis Oosthuizen.

The opening tee of the tournament will be among the trio of Luke Donald, Marc Leishman and Colin Montgomerie at 6:35AM local time. The group of Ryan Evans, Zander Lombard and Callum Shinkwin is the last to tee off in the 1st round at 4:16PM local time.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed Dustin Johnson as the favorite to win the 145th Open Championship on Sunday noon. Jason Day, Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth are among his strongest challengers throughout the 4-day tournament.
