On Friday, the best golfers in the United States and Europe will meet in the prestigious Ryder Cup competition.

This is a match play tournament that will determine whose nation is the best in the world of golf.

The 2018 Ryder Cup will be played in the Albatros Course of Le Golf National in Guyancourt, Paris, France. Team USA is the defending champion and will defend the title on Europe's territory.

Friday's game will be a foursome matches followed by Saturday's fourball matches and Sunday's game will feature 12 singles matches.

Team Europe will be headed by Thomas Bjorn as captain with vice-captains Luke Donald, Padraig Harrington, Robert Karlsson, Graeme McDowell and Lee Westwood. Europe's 12-man players will be led by Justin Rose, Rory McIlroy, Ian Poulter, John Rahm, Henrik Stenson, Francesco Molinari, Alex Noren, Thorbjorn Olesen, Paul Casey, Tommy Fleetwood, Sergio Garcia and Tyrell Hatton.

Defending champion Team USA will be captained by Jim Furyk with vice-captains David Duval and Zach Johnson, Matt Kuchar, Davis Love III and Steve Stricker. USA's 12-man team will be headlined by Justin Thomas, Tiger Woods, Bubba Watson, Jordan Spieth, Brooks Koepka, Phil Mickelson, Patrick Reed, Bryson Dechambeau, Tony Finau, Rickie Fowler and Dustin Johnson.
