On Thursday, the Club De Golf Chapultepec in Mexico City will host the WGC-Mexico Championship. This tournament is the first of the four World Golf Championships this season. This is the third time that Club De Golf Chapultepec will host the tournament since 2017.

Defending champion Phil Mickelson is riding a hot streak going to this tournament. He won the AT&T Pebble Pro-Am and got was tied in 2nd place at the Genesis Open.

All the Top 50 players in the official world golf rankings are invited to play. Top 30 players in the PGA Tour Fedex Cup together with the top 20 European Tour and Top 2 from Asian Tour, Japan Golf Tour, PGA Tour of Australasia and Sunshine also qualified to play at the WGC-Mexico Championship.

Tiger Woods, winner of 18 World Golf Championships titles will play his first WGC tournament in Mexico. He arrived earlier at the golf course to acclimatize himself especially the high altitude wherein the Club De Golf Chapultepec is situated.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed Justin Thomas as the favorite to win the WGC-Mexico Championship on Sunday.
