August 12, 2014 by Marc Jerbs

The Straits Course of Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin will host the 2015 PGA Championship from August 13 until August 16. This is the last major championship for the 2015 season.

A total of 156 players from 27 different countries will play in the tournament. Fifteen former US PGA champions will play in the tournament such as Tiger Woods, Jason Dufner, Keegan Bradley, Martin Kaymer, Y.E. Yang, Padraig Harrington, Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh, Shaun Micheel, Rich Beem, David Toms, Davis Love III, Mark Brooks and John Daly.

World No. 1 and defending PGA Championship champion Rory McIlroy declared himself ready to play and defend his title. He has not played competitive golf since June 21 after he suffered ruptured ligaments in his ankle while playing football with his friends. To mend his injuries, McIlroy skipped the Scottish Open, Open Championship and WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed Jordan Spieth as the favorite to win the PGA Championship. Rory McIlroy, Jason Day and Bubba Watson are among his strongest challengers throughout the tournament.
