2018 Thursday Night Football: Oakland Raiders at San Francisco 49ers October 31, 2018 by Marc Jerbs

It's the battle of cellar dwellers this Thursday night as the Oakland Raiders (1-6) visit the San Francisco 49ers (1-7) at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Kickoff is set at 8:20 pm (ET).

This may not be a marquee Thursday night football matchup as both teams are on a losing streak - the Raiders have lost three in a row while the 49ers have lost six in a row. But make no mistake, this could be a pretty good game for sports bet sharps.

Both teams sit at the bottom of their respective divisions at the mid-point of the season and maybe looking at draft position instead of playoff contention.

Raiders star running back Marshawn "Beast Mode" Lynch is on injured reserve. Meanwhile DE Bruce Irvin, WR Dwayne Harris, CB Gareon Conley and G Kelechi Osemele are all questionable for Thursday night's game.

On the other hand, the 49ers placed LB Reuben Foster, RB Matt Breida, S Jaquiski Tartt, WR Pierre Garcon and RB Raheem Mostert as questionable. QB C.J. Beathard (right wrist) did not participate during the team's walk through last Tuesday.

ESPN's Football Power Index predicts that the 49ers have a 62.8% chance of winning this game. Meanwhile, the Raiders only have a 36.9% chance of winning. At those percentages, the -150 money line on the 49ers look quite appealing. Underdog bettors may get curious on the Raiders at +130.

The Raiders average 19.7 points per game this season. They scored 42 points against the Cleveland Browns for their lone win on Week 4. But they only managed 3 points against the Seattle Seahawks in a loss on Week 6.

Meanwhile, the 49ers average about 21.6 points per game this season. They scored a team season high 30 points twice - their lone win against the Detroit Lions on Week 2 and a loss against the Green Bay Packers on Week 6. The 49ers scored a team season low 10 points in a loss against the Los Angeles Rams on Week 7.

The Raiders run game may sputter without top RB Marshawn Lynch. But the 49ers offense may go off against the Raiders' spotty defense. Curiously, the game could reach more than the total of 46 points.

Lastly, the 49ers are playing at home. Top QB C.J. Beathard may be hurt, but Jimmy Garoppolo could fill up the slack. Surely the 49ers could cover that -3 point spread, don't you think?
