US Triple Crown Last Leg: 153rd Belmont Stakes June 3, 2020 by Marc Jerbs

On Saturday, the Belmont Park in Elmont, New York will host the last leg of US Triple Crown, the 153rd Belmont Stakes.

The Belmont Stakes is a Grade I race for three-year old horses and will cover a total race distance a 1½ miles of the turf-surfaced Belmont Park.

Post time is set 6:47PM EDT.

There's no Triple Crown watch over the weekend but that doesn't mean there won't be plenty of action.

Eight horses will race on Saturday and without Medina Spirit.

Medina Spirit was prohibited from running the race after the NYRA banned trained Bob Baffert from entering horses in race or stabling them at Belmont Park, Saratoga and Aqueduct.

Preakness Stakes winner Rombeaur will lead the seven other horses and start at Post No. 3.

Starting at Post No. 2 will be Essential Quality.

The rest of horses that will race in the Belmont Stakes are:

  • Bourbonic
  • Hot Rod Charlie
  • France Go de Ina
  • Known Agenda
  • Rock Your World
  • Overtook

The sportsbook handicappers have installed Essential Quality as the favorite to win the Belmont Stakes on Saturday night.
